4 Best Pieces of Exercise Equipment to Have at Home

When you’re working full time or just don’t have time or energy to head to the gym after a long day of work, it’s no excuse not to get fit. Adjustable Dumbbells

Adjustable dumbbells are beneficial for toning and strengthening your muscles and are far more convenient for a home environment than standard dumbbells. For best effect, most people purchase a set of eight standard dumbbells, but the downside of such a setup is the space these take up. If you are buying adjustable dumbbells, however, you often get twice that in one convenient dumbbell. You can even choose the weight capacity which is typically between 40 and 100 pounds.

Yoga Mat

When you’re looking to tone your abs and burn stomach fat, it’s helpful to have a yoga mat. Carrying out crunches, press-ups, sit-ups and other similar exercises can take its toll on your body, but not in the way you think. Hard flooring can begin to prove taxing on your joints, and a yoga mat is necessary to provide at least a small amount of padding. Being more comfortable during these exercises can also mean you work out longer for better effect.

Adjustable Kettlebell

An adjustable kettlebell operates similarly to an adjustable dumbbell. Instead of having six or more kettlebells of varying weights taking up space in your home, you can have one and alter the weight component. By swapping your standard kettlebells for adjustable ones, you are set up and ready to go.

Weighted Jump Rope

If you’re looking for a piece of exercise equipment that will take up minimal space at home but provides the maximum effect, a weighted jump rope – or even just a standard jump rope – is it. Skipping offers a host of benefits, including improved heart rate, muscle toning, weight loss, improving bone density and helping with balance, agility, and coordination.

A weighted jump rope also has weights in the handles which increases upper body toning as well. The best part about jump ropes, aside from both strengthening and cardio benefits, is how easy they are to store. They will fit into any small nook or cranny in your home, and just one hour of skipping can burn 1,300 calories!
